This HTML video tutorial shows you how to use the paragraph or p tag in a web page. HTML paragraph tags are used to define the HTML paragraph element. The paragraph element begins with the HTML p tag and ends with the HTML /p tag. Paragraphs are usually represented in visual media as blocks of text that are separated from adjacent blocks by vertical blank space and/or first-line indentation. Paragraphs are block-level elements.

The HTML <p> element represents a paragraph. Paragraphs are usually represented in visual media as blocks of text separated from adjacent blocks by blank lines and/or the first-line indentation, but HTML paragraphs can be any structural grouping of related content, such as images or form fields.

Paragraphs are block-level elements, and notable will automatically close if another block-level element is parsed before closing </p> tag. See “Tag omission” below.
